What We Do

Are you traveling outside of North America? We can help to assure your protection from infectious diseases. We review the individual's itinerary and recommend a complete and customized health plan to help protect the traveler from infectious diseases. This consultation will be discussed with you in depth by a board-certified Infectious Diseases physician.

Services Provided

All Travelers receive country-specific:

• Immunizations
• Advice Concerning food and water consumption and traveler's diarrhea
• Malaria Prophylaxis

Travelers also receive:

• A U.S. government-approved form to record immunizations
• The latest U.S. State Department Travel Warnings and Consular Information Sheet providing important information about the country visited
• Country-specific information as provided by the CDC and CIA (maps, demographics, etc)
• General health advice for international travel Country-specific information as provided by the CDC and CIA (maps, demographics, etc)

Immunizations Provided

• Hepatitis A
• Japanese encephalitis virus
• Measles/Mumps/Rubella
• Pneumococcus
• Polio
• Rabies
• Tetanus-diphtheria
• Typhoid fever
• Yellow fever

What You Should Do:

• Plan ahead
• Schedule your consultation as soon as you know your travel plans. Immunizations generally take ten to fourteen days to become effective
• Call for an appointment. Patients are seen by appointment only. At that time we can provide you with our office policy and answer any preliminary questions you may have
• Provide us with your itinerary and history of previous vaccinations

The Staff:

• Dr. Schenfeld is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He has been providing travel medicine services in Johnstown, PA since 1982.
• Terri Schenfeld RN is a full-time registered nurse who assists in the administration of vaccines.

• Travel vaccines are not covered by insurance carriers. We therefore expect payment by cash, MasterCard or Visa at the time of service.
